St Columbs College, Derry – New Sports Hall and Plant Room Project Complete

We have just completed the full mechanical services installation at St. Columbs College, Derry where a new sports hall has been built. Our work included plumbing, heating, sanitaryware, public health installations and ventilation along with a full BMS control system with changing rooms and shower blocks being installed. We installed a new standalone plant room to supply the new building. We were able to fabricate parts of the plumbing and heating section of the plant room in our workshop in Toomebridge. We were then able to disassemble and reassemble onsite to cut down site installation time. A new 110mm diameter gas main was also installed to feed the new plant room and existing plant room at the extensive 40 acre site based in the Pennyburn area of Derry City. The new sports hall building incorporates 5 pupil changing rooms with 9 showers in each, accessible shower rooms and staff shower rooms. We were also involved in the refurbishment of part of the existing school. We started onsite mid 2016 and the finished in April 2017.

St Columbs College, the oldest and largest catholic grammar school in Northern Ireland, has a pupil population of over 1,500 and was founded in 1879.
